I really wonder if there is a connection. How long has Playboy been around? Early 60's or late 50's right? But its just now that these instances of sexual assault are up, so why the sudden connection.
One thing that has changed in recent years is the number of women going into the millitary, and also going into combat roles. So now you take the fact that a small portion of the men who go into the millitary because they feel the need to be violent; and now provide a lot more potential victims for them to assault.
20 years ago those guys with the chip on their shoulders would have just gotten into fights with their fellow male soldiers, and would have ended up with a nickname like "crazy Mike."

As politically incorrect as that might be; I don't see that as being a bad idea. I wonder if the fact that you get hookers X times per year might remove the need for any other kind of recruitment advertizing.
