Not sure if this should get a new thread, but it is related to Monster Cable and a little dust-up with Blue Jeans Cable.

A quick summary - Monster Cable is not only known for their outrageously priced cable (good cable, I'll grant, but overpriced by about 3 or 4 times what they should be priced) but they are also famous for being extremely litigious. They are more than willing to sue any company that tries to use the word "Monster" in any way.
Monster cable sent a patent complaint to Blue Jeans Cable about a type of connector being used. Interestingly, the head of Blue Jeans Cable was, in his previous job, a litigation lawyer. In his own words:

In plaintiffs' practice, likewise, I was always a strong advocate of standing upon principle and taking cases all the way to judgment, even when substantial offers of settlement were on the table. I am "uncompromising" in the most literal sense of the word. If Monster Cable proceeds with litigation against me I will pursue the same merits-driven approach; I do not compromise with bullies and I would rather spend fifty thousand dollars on defense than give you a dollar of unmerited settlement funds.

This could get interesting.
