Men are too funny.
My husband rambles on and on and on about hunting, fishing, his birds, the "man-shed", his crazy job, the garden etc. I listened attentively for the first 7 or 8 years of marriage. Now, I tune him out.
You wanna know why? (Probably not, but I'm sharing anyway) Because the same attentiveness wasn't reciprocated. His inability to listen to what I was saying has gotten me into hot water a couple of times. He would only hear what he wanted to hear. Then he would go off spouting "man-talk" with his buddies and get the facts all wrong.
He still rambles. I don't listen.
I say nothing. He has nothing to listen to except his own voice.
And they say communication is the best basis for a strong marriage. Bah. What do they know, anyway?
