Or try a "hot toddy." Mix 2 or 3 ounces of rum, a couple of tablespoons of honey and a tablespoon of butter in a cup of boiling water, drink it while it is steaming hot. If it doesn't get rid of your cough at least it'll give you a nice buzz.
