I own NHL 2005, and played it quite a lot until recently. It's a decent game overall, but there are just some STUPID things that EA completely forgot about this year.
1. Creat Player - the biggest p*ss-off for me ever. I know they spent so much time on the rest of the game that they didn't have time or whatever, but then the game itself isn't all that different from previous years! It annoyed me.
2. WTF? Why is there no "League Leaders" statistics? Just not paying attention.
3. Can't change other team's jerseys. Boo...
Other than that (and a few other minor things), the game is fine. Except for the bloody hitting. It's the worst I've ever seen. Just like someone mentioned: Magnetic. It seems the CPU can knock your man down from ANYWHERE on the ice, he could even be on the other side, and still eliminate you. That chaps my ass. Also, breakaways. You're in the clear! Oh wait, they ALWAYS catch up and either hook you, or somehow throw a shoulder into you and stop you dead in your tracks - from behind.
Sorry for ranting, it's just I had nobody to bitch about it to this whole time. NHL2006 better be the best damn game ever, or I'm done with video games. Hell, I'm probably old enough anyway.

Just turn your settings down then..it makes it much easier to get around them
