I must have mis-read the article/your post...
I don't see anywhere where going to the salon to look pretty for you is mentioned. I know the guy in the article goes daily, but it doesn't say all do. (you even mentioned he looked too girly) Although of course people dress up and look their best when they go out, and I'm no different. Daily salon visits just seem a little too much.
From what I gathered you would come into my club, order plenty of wine, we would drink it, while you received many compliments and yada yada yada... In the end instead of paying me my cut, I would be fine with walking away with the free wine in my system.
