http://www.allofmp3.com/ is probably the cheapest place to actually buy MP3's, waaay less than $1 per song. Plus you can choose the file format and quality you want to download at.

I second this recommendation. AT $0.02 / MB, depending upon the format you could get songs for under $0.10 a piece, or an entire album for over a dollar.
They've got a great interface with the allofmp3 explorer and a huge selection. You can sample everything on all the albums (albeit in a highly compressed format).
If you're buying stuff that's available on allofmp3.com anywhere else, you're making a mistake. [/b][/quote]
