If you had read his post, he has a music degree.

Rap/Hip-Hop is a genre.

The technique of sampling is an integral part of the asthetics of said genre.

If you don't like things with "sampling" then you best throw out everything written after Sgt Pepper and Dark Side of the Moon. Almost everything made since then (and certainly since the rise of the Digital Audio Workstation) has a HUGE "sampling" component to it.

Come to think about it, SGT Pepper has MORE sampling than the average hip-hop album!
