The new rock stars pretending to be not about the money still sell t-shirts at their concerts and the only difference between selling t-shirts and having a marketing deal with Visa is that one makes more money than the other but they are still done to make money. He says to be weary of any musical artist who is 'not doing it for money' because they are 'fataing liars'. Of course there are many holes in his arguments, but they were interesting REGARDLESS.
Heck even Radiohead who profess to be very anti-establishment, anti-corporate did all the latest stuff to allow them to increase their take on their latest album.

I fully agree with Simmons. Today's Rap fan would have been 25 years ago's Heavy Metal fan as they both exploit the adolescent need for masculinity in young males. Next time people go to a hip-hop club and look at a white suburban youth dressed to the nines in hip-hop appeal, picture him with long-hair, skin-tight ripped jeans, and a sleaveless whitesnake shirt and that's how cool he's going to look in a couple of decades.
