I understand, the one time you try to take more illegally and it ends up in disaster. Very frustrating indeed. I personally don't think you're a low-life scalping a**hole at all. In fact you're probably very much like everyday people I meet and see all the time. I also agree with the assumption that the asian lady you sold your tickets to is indeed sketchy and less reputable than you on the whole. However this is where my support for you runs out.
Using this "low on cash" excuse is a moral cop out. I'm going to say this flat out: chraging $300 for green seats is douchbaggery in every sense of the word even when it happens only once, even when the buyers are Asian-gangster Canuck fans, and even when the proceeds go towards a cash-strapped individual who yet is still able to justify on an annual basis the expenditures required to have Flames season tickets. Playing by the rules 98% of the time doesn't morally buy you one scalping indulgence. The only excuse I would accept would be that you actually need that $300 to buy medication for desperate ailing family members and all other avenues to raise such funds would have led you to do other illegal activities.
It's a moral slippery slope from "I'm low on cash so I scapled my Flames tickets to one game" to "I find that I'm low on cash rather often so I scalp my Flames tickets when the need arises" to "I generate secondary income off of scalping my Flames tickets"
So going back to the original thesis of this thread, you're net ahead $40 of what you paid but you're entitled to recieve face value, and the Asian-gangster lady has tickets that cost $20 above face but she acquired them by threatning gang-violence and weaselling out on a bet. By the rules of Karma you deserve to get screwed out of $20 at some point in time and she deserves to be forced to do something she promised to do at the threat of gang violence by also recieving an extra $20. Next time you drive by one of those massage parlours run by Asian gangsters you'll know she's paid her price to karma and oddly enough when you walk in a pay an extra $20 for a happy ending at said parlour you'll have paid your price too!
