I work in the Catholic School Board building right beside that bridge, and coincidentally, had a police office in my office about 20 minutes after it happened. (investigating an attempted break in). Anyway, he told me that she tried to commit suicide, but instead managed to break both legs and had some suspected spinal cord damage. So instead of downing a bottle of sleeping pills like the old days, she takes up an hour or so of 30ish emergency workers and will cost our health care system thousands of dollars. I just don't get it.
On a side note, it was pretty darn cool watching them hoist her up with that fire truck!
