It sounds like you've watched too much TV; backflashes and visualizations tend to be in back and white there.
I used to have subtitled dreams, complete in two languages (Finnish and Swedish), with translation errors. (That's the way they do it for foreign films in theaters in Finland.) Funniest part is, I don't really know any Swedish
This came about in my teens when I used to watch tons of movies. My dreams also used to have camera drives, cuts and stuff like that. It was actually pretty cool, and I'm sorry it ended. Lasted for something like ten years.
