Asia - one of my favorite bands. I love progressive rock.
The Alan Parson's Project - some great songs
Simple Minds - Pegged as a one hit wonder, but they really weren't
a-ha - They are still together to this day and making great music. It doesn't have a new wave sound, but definitely unique. I guess they aren't really classic rock though and many only know them as a one hit wonder. If anyone is interested, I have a lot of songs to recommend. Drop me a line.
Genesis (sans Gabriel) - I liked their sound better with Collins singing lead.
Heart - as mentioned before by Dis, a great band! They put on an amazing show last fall at the Jub. Nancy and Ann still sound fantastic.
Talk Talk - Love them. But again, not really classic rock and not many seem to know about them.
I keep thinking of more!
Not a band, but Pat Benatar. An outstanding rocker who paved the way for many female artists.
