Default Most underappreciated classic rock bands

Which bands don't get the respect and accolades they deserve(d)? I say Classic Rock because otherwise this will just turn into a thread about bands that most people have never heard of....and we've had plenty of those (and they're great too).

A few bands I think don't get their just due when discussing classic rock...

1. Supertramp....don't dwell on their radio hits (some good, some not) but delve into their LP's and experience it all. Crime of The Century and Breakfast In America are great from start to finish and both contain gems that were/are never played on radio. Single wise, check out School, Lord is it Mine and Child of Vision for examples of those gems.

2. Steely Dan- I just think that Donald Fagan and Walter Becker are geniuses. Nobody sounded like them and they had such a wide ranging sound. Some of their radio hits are really good...Do It Again is just gold. Rikki Don't Lose That Number (which was written to appease the label with a radio friendly hit) and Reeling In the Years are good songs too...but the Steely Dan library is absolutely full of great stuff. Try The Boston Rag, The Royal Scam, Third World Man and Jack of Speed (from the 2000 release Two Against Nature) on for size. Great players on their records too.

3. Heart- Pre Bad Animals they flat out rocked. They could hit you hard with Barracuda or play you a beautiful melody like Dog And Butterfly. They never get their due and I think it's because Ann and Nancy are women. Great stuff.
