Since Nickelback is the poster boy for bad music to the vocal minority/majority (who knows which) on this site, can the self proclaimed defenders of good taste explain to me what is formulaic or just plain awful about these songs:
Breathe
Leader Of Men
Old Enough
They are all from The State. Maybe I just like "bad" music, I'm okay with that; I'm from the 80's. I'll admit I do not have the entire Nickelback collection, but did buy the next two CD's. I will say I don't like much on them. I am not being defensive, because arguing about taste and personal preferences is kind of silly; I am genuinely curious.
Give me New Model Army, Marillion, REM, The Lucy Show, Squeeze, China Crisis, U2 and Pearl Jam and I'm happy. I don't like things because they are art, or experimental, I like them because they make me feel something whether it be happiness or sadness. I enjoy listening to them, just like quite a bit of Nickelback.
Okay I am taking my Ultravox and Alphaville records and going back to 1982.
