Alright, alright, I'm working on it.

Its always nice to start with a good quote, and then work a speach that relates that quote to what you're talking about.

You also have to keep it fairly short, and you have to keep them laughing. You cannot be reading. I cant stress this enough. You arent George Bush, dont write up a speach and read it. It works for some people, but his administration overlooked the fact that he cant read. Canned speaches suck, it should be an outline that you are thoroughly comfortable with and knowledgeable of, so that you can just run with it if you have to.

Its also important for you to have an over-arching goal that everyone can aspire to, but that isnt outrageously pompous.

But most importantly, you have to cover the topic and hit every base.

So, assuming you're graduating from High School, I'd go with something like that everyone can relate to.

I've done this a fair bit.

I'll post up an example tomorrow, just PM me so that I dont forget, because this totally slipped my mind.
