And in the men's game, having that alone as a superior specific skill will take you places. Sampras has still got game, he wouldnt be able to touch Federer 9 out of 10 matches, but he would be a consistent threat in the later rounds of Grand Slams. Andy Roddick would be pushed to the back burner for American tennis stars. I think Federer's assessment isnt just flattery - a 4 thru 8 ranking would be a good guess for Sampras.
