So picture this: it's a one goal game and there's a faceoff in our own zone with just minutes left. I line up for the draw and as the ref releases the puck I lung forward and sweep the puck backward on my backhand as hard as I can.
It's not until the other team starts cheering that I realize I've launched the puck over the blocker of our goalie and right into my own net. I STILL haven't lived that one down. Needless to say, we lost that game--but far worse was the ribbing I got in the locker room over the obligatory case of PBR.

I'd say that your goalie deserves the ribbing for allowing a won face-off to score. Even if you hammered the puck it shouldn't be moving fast enough to get past your own goalie.
