Here's what irks me...
When I'm in the left lane passing someone in the right lane, and a car is on my ass being impatient, the impatient car doesn't wait for me to move into the right lane before passing. Instead, they cut off the car that I, along with said tailgater have just passed by swerving into the right lane and gunning it to pass on my right. The car in the right lane is forced to slam on their breaks and I'm usually forced to swerve back into the left lane.
My rule of thumb, which is completely reasonable, is to wait until there is at least 1 or 1 1/2 cars length distance between me and the car I've just passed before entering the right lane. A-holes that are too important to wait for me to move over are the reason people are attacking 4x4 and REDVAN, and rightfully so. I'm not at all saying that describes either of you two as drivers, but it comes with the territory, somewhat unfortunately.
