Thought I would contribute something to this thread. Two weeks ago I went down to Great Falls for a night to poke around some of the car dealerships. Everything is there....Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Subaru & all of the domestics. I will say for the most part I was unimpressed with most of the "deals". Unless you are buying high end stuff you really aren't saving that much cash, at least with pre-owned. If you choose to buy new all of the dealers are quick to tell you that your warranty will be void in Canada but they will happily sell you one for anywhere between $2500-$4000.
With the way interest rates are in Canada right now (Honda & Nissan anyway) I don't think I will be purchasing in the States. Worst part of the story is that I hit black ice and wrecked my Pathfinder on the way back. That vehicle was a curse.
