I have always found that laying off the booze for a while can have a lot of positives:
1. Your thinking becomes much quicker and more efficient
2. You sleep better
3. You can handle stress better
4. Your less reactive
The rule of thumb we used to use was to stop drinking for one day a week, one week a month and one month a year.
I agree, moderation is the key.
