Manitoba... I just drove through there with a friend from TO to Calgary back in September.
As we hit the edge of town (Winnipeg), we jumped on the ring road, which turns to 70kph, somewhat abruptly. So my friend was going 100, but when we saw the sudden 70 sign, she hammers the brakes. Guess what, a friggin RCMP sitting there, waiting for that exact scenario. Writes us a $250 ticket and we're on our way.
So my friend figures she's done enough driving and we do a switcheroo. It's dusk, turning to night and I'm about 40 clicks outside Winnipeg.
The road is straight and flat, double divided with at least 100 feet between sides, zero traffic. I'm going 125kph (yeah, yeah, send 'ol 4x4 to hell). Suddenly behind me a pair of headlights pop out of nowhere.
I slow down to 100, but the guy got me. Pulled me over, I also got a $250 ticket. Damn. My first speeding ticket in ~5 years.
