you can get tivo in HD and they now support Canada which is a recent development.
I have 2 and have for about 3 years. I pay about 18 per month in fees. It is simply the best way to watch tv. Having said that I don't know that it is much better than the pvr's offered by the cable providers.
It is very easy to program and find shows and it will find shows you may like base on what you have selected. I am a big fan but having said that when I get an hdtv I will likely get a hdpvr for sports and use the tivos for kid shows.
