According to an account in the Calgary SUN today:
The psycho had threatened to blow the heads off two guys who were there to repossess his truck the day before.
They didn't take him seriously. He suddenly jumped in his truck and tore through a fence and disappeared.
These two repo guys got curious and went into the quonset and saw the gro-op and what they thought was a stolen parts operation.
They phoned the cops.
The cops arrived and were there overnight to guard the scene until warrants could be secured and reinforcements could arrive from Edmonton.
The first two cops were slain. The second two were slain when they arrived shortly thereafter. Two more cops arrived, heard gunfire, traded gunfire with the psycho and then retreated.
The place was surrounded. The cops sent a robot into the quonset, saw everyone was dead, and then secured the site.
