First thing I would do is pay off all my lines of credit I've had to take out because student loans won't cover ever-increasing tuition. Then I'd pay off my student loans and tell them to PFO.
Once that's taken care of, I'd find a nice condo or something to rent/buy short-term (tell my current landloard, Boardwalk, to PFO). Then hire a good architect to start building my dream home. Not sure where to stick it though (Chestermere?).
At the same time, I'm buying an Escalade or some other nice SUV with cash. I'm gonna have some fun walking around all the fancy dealerships dangling my lottery winnings in front of them.
Next I would buy a ragtop yellow Mustang for my wife (she's always had a weird fixation on that car). Another self-preservation kind of mood.
My Dad's been having a hell of a time selling his house in Southern Alberta. I'd take that off his hands and set him up. My Mom could use a better place to stay and some cash. Both of them could be well taken care of.
My bro is making tons of cash in the oil industry. And he never talks to me. I'd give him a bit anyway.
My inlaws have been really awesome. They're going on a trip and I'm paying for all my relatives schooling.
All this is pretty stressful so I'll have to take a trip somewhere really nice. First-class. Probably bring some family and friends too.
Whatever's left will be invested. NOt sure how or where. As for charity, I'll give a little bit to my old high school and a bunch to my church. Any to the University? Maybe, if they start showing a more student friendly attitude...
Oh! And I've always wanted a really sweet suite. Silk with pinstripes. Yah...
Would you still work? I think I would finish this degree and then get a few more going only part-time (one or two classes per semester). Just for fun...
