Okay as promised for those that are unable to come out tonight, here is a list of issues to be decided upon.
1. WOMEN. We have only one female CPer signed up.Will need 4 minimum. We need to either canvass female posters or players friends/wives etc. Four persons said they could bring out ladies (Aeneas, 4x4, rubecube, and sportsjunky) this will need to be nailed down or the whole issue is a non starter. A couple people did not answer PM's. I do not know if Tyler or Flamesinyoureyes are M or F.
If we fail at this, then we could field 1 or 2 mens teams, but we will lose the recreational aspect, as I doubt there is much out there for Men's rec leagues.
2. Area Of City. responses to the question of where do you live and or where are you willing to play:
South 7
SW 3
SE 2
SW/SE 1
NW 2
N 1
DT 1
Any 1
Live NE, Work S 1
13/18 are in the south, one north said they are unwilling toi travel to the south, one NW said distance was not a problem, one NE said he would not play in south if on weekends.
Option 1. Find as central a league as possible to accomadate everyone.
Option 2. Majority rule, find a south league so the most players have less to drive. (of course south ranges from Copperfield to Discovery so that is a pretty big area to appease)
Note: something considered "south" such as Pop Davies in Ogden, could be considered easier for some north people to get to, than far west/south.
3. When to Play. I see this as possibly the most contentious issue, also the one that may pare the numbers down. Of those who said they had a preference:
Sunday 4
Sat/Sun 3
Mon-Thurs 3
Not Tues 1
You can discount the Sat votes, as i do not believe there are any leagues playing then, so it's essentially Sunday 7, weeknights 3. Important to stress that almost half did not respond or did not care.
4. What League? Let's decide some of the above first. I do have info from more than a dozen leagues and am waiting on some more. Many leagues are still in the process of checking on incumbent teams, and are not sure if they have room yet. Others are already full, some have wait lists. I wanted to throw our name on a no-fault wait list, but needed a team name!
5. Sponsorship. Do we want/need a pub sponsorship. Am bringing am example of a team&pub contract/agreement from last season. It could mean cheaper costs to everyone, but comes at the cost of supporting that establishment. This goes hand in hand with location of the league, as people are less likely to attend a sponsor bar, if it is too far away. We also have the option of corporate sponsorship, maybe shirts or something; will let Trouman fill us in on that possibility.
