Singapore has lots of money and a "social hierarchy". Are they pretend Americans there too?
Canadians and Americans share many similarities. So do Canadians and Australians, New Zealanders, and Brits - because we all live in First World, mainly English-speaking democracies, that originally sprung from British colonies. It'd be surprising if we all WEREN'T much alike; but still similar does not mean "same".
