I second Grizzly Paw in Canmore. It depends on what they like and their age, but the gondola, hot springs, Banff Springs Hotel/Bow Falls, ice skating at Chateau Lake Louise. There's no Scotish like pubs around here... there's always the 'Irish like' pub St. James Gate

Winter is fairly boring if you don't ski/board around here.
