For a bullet proof email client, you can't beat Pegasus mail. A number of my clients use it, and I also use it corporately. It also happens to be freeware.

Contact lists are not anywhere as fancy as in LookOut, although they are not bad. As far as calender options though, I'm afraid that MS LookOut is still the best option. Pegasus is working on a calender module, but it isn't out yet.
