I watched the opening ceremonies on NBC here in the US, and I wanted to put a steel toed boot through not only the TV, but Bob Costas' noggin. As all the countries were coming out, instead of showcasing the athletes and the events they are competing in, Bobby went straight for the controversy. He mentioned "flaggate" with the canadian flag bearer, any country that had a history of genocide or atrocities, Bobbo mentioned it. Aren't the Olympics supposed to be free of politics, religion blah blah blah.....Well, that's a perfect world.....

I agree, they were way too negative in the Opening ceremonies. I couldn't understand this. It is supposed to be a happy time.
