The Cheese Rule to me is unneccessary. We have a great model to look at in the NHL. While I understand that cash is a commodity, how much more do we need than players, prospects and picks? At the end of the year, the cash disappears, and the cap resets. So in a way, technically we are trading nothing in the end. Short term, it helps, but long term, there's nothing.
I wouldn't mind the Cheese Rule being removed only if trading of cash is removed as well. If trading of cash is still an option in the CPHL, something like the Cheese Rule is needed IMO.
