I refuse to buy flowers or chocolates on Valentines day simply because the vendors price gouge the idiots who do buy them.

We have 364 other days of the year to buy these two items at much less of a markup, so I'll buy those products then. Besides, I don't need a specific calendar day to tell my wife that I love and appreciate her. V-day is for the morons who ignore their girls year round.

That all said, we usually do something more couple oriented around this time. Usually a nice dinner at home or something like that. We're not about to head out to a fancy restaurant, get ripped off with ridiculous prices, over crowding or poor-service when we could have a really nice meal in a much more intimate setting. But I suppose it's mandatory for new couples
