Looks like this thread may be too little, too late, as I don't see a re-run on the schedule in the next few days, but... I watched this episode of The Passionate Eye last night and thought it was verrrry interesting. Yeah, yeah, CBC... Whatever. They've got their slant, we all know, but this show was damn interesting, IMO.
For people that *gasp* aren't in the oil industry, it does a fine job of explaining the science behind how oil is formed. It also got pretty in depth about the history of oil and industry.
Anyway, it may seem a bit elementary to a geologist but to a layman, it is super interesting.

So, to anyone interested in how oil originally formed, how and when it was discovered and the "impact" it "has" on the earth, watch this show. It's called "Crude" and it is an episode of The Passionate Eye, usually seen on channel 15 on Shaw.
