I have a hard time imagining Mitt Romney running against a McCain who is running for re-election for his 2nd term... do you guys honestly think that if McCain wins his first term, he'll have to legitimately fight Romney for the right to his second term?

I don't see it happening. If McCain wins, Romney won't have a serious shot at President for 8 years. Just like McCain after Bush won.
