If you find yourself overly tired after having a lengthy amount of sleep, wake up with headaches or hear anyone complain about your snoring, you owe it to yourself to follow up with your doctor.

At my worst, I used to sleep for 14 hours a day and wake up feeling absolutely awful and dead tired. I ended up seeing a doctor about this and was finally diagnosed with severe sleep apnea. Basically, your airway doesn't open properly and you literally choke during your sleep, you wake up involuntarily, but never achieve REM sleep (I never actually realized I was waking up during the night since I would fall back to sleep right away). As a result, you're extremely tired all the time.

After dealing with this problem - my life changed for the better. Anyways, I just thought I'd add this in a sleep thread.
A friend of mine has that and has to sleep with a special mask on to force air into his lungs, guite brutal if you think about it.

I used to work with a guy that would sleep for 12-16 hours a day. He worked 8 hour graveyard shifts. He wouldn't talk about it but we all figured that he depressed. This was his thing for over 4 years. On weekends, he'd sleep normal hours and go sledding. Yikes.
