The 33% failure rate that was confirmed my Microsoft says differently.
Microsoft says they've done measures to fix the problem with new systems, but it's still being reported that the new systems are failing at an unacceptable rate.

I've read that before and it really is mind blowing. The only thing more shocking to me is the devotion many people show to the company after being provided with defective equipment multiple times. I'm not anti-360 or anything, I'm just amazed at how many people don't seem to get overly annoyed by the failure rate.

It's more shocking to see people how many people actually went out and re-bought the system after it failed on them (before the 3 year warranty). Especially since it's been widely known for a long time that the 360 is the most unreliable console ever.
