I don't know why people give such weight to the opinion of someone famous. Just because they can play a sport or act does not make them some sort of political savant. The only benefit they have is they may travel more and thereby not be trapped by provincial bias.
I'd prefer to see a list of economists, sociologists, etc (who are unaffiliated with any specific party) give their opinions on their areas of expertise for each party's platform.
