Here's the other thing from Jack's flash forwards. Twice he makes mention of his father in the present tense. Once when he tells the cheif of physicians to "go upstairs and see if I am more drunk than my father." The other time in the pharmacy when he tries to use a prescription written by his father.
Now I understand that he may be forging his father's prescription pads, or that he may have forgotten that his father was dead, but it does strike me as a little odd that in the flash forward his father gets mentioned twice.
