If you choose to live in a country where it's a law not to do that and you know the consequences, then why do it? I'm totally against the punishment they are getting and think it's ridiculous but it's a law in that country (as stupid as it is).

I dont think they have much choice about where they live. Hence Iran's villification via Women's Rights advocates.
Ie. Have fun crossing a border in a Burka without a man. 
BTW, I wonder who gets to throw the stones? Do they have designated "stone-throwing" officials? Is it kinda like a firing squad?
