Not to derail this thread, but... GWB is as phony as a three dollar bill. I challenge you to name one "genuine" thing about him. The whole "don't mess with Texas" act? His family are New England aristocrats, from Connecticut. He himself was raised in New England, and still has a summer home in Maine. When he first ran for office in Texas, he lost because his constituents didn't want to vote for some carpetbagger from New England--no kidding. The whole "rancher" thing? His "ranch" in Crawford is basically a set, designed for photo-ops to make him seem like he fits into a state whose culture he has adopted in his adult life. Compassionate conservative? Nope. Not a "nation-builder?" Yikes. "Clean Air Act"? "No Child Left Behind"? It gets worse and worse.

So here's a list of things he's NOT, that at one time or another he has pretended to be: A Texan. An everyday joe. A working stiff. A rancher. A businessman. A fiscal conservative. A reformer. Bipartisan.

Can you give me one thing that he IS? Because it sounds like you just have this "feeling" about him that he's genuine. Trust me--most politicians re-invent themselves at one time or another. But Bush is basically a chameleon.

(/rant. We now return to your regularly scheduled thread.)
