So, black 'cultures, values, backgrounds' cause 40% dropout rates? What are some aspects of black culture and values that cause this?

It begins with people who shouldn't be having children having children. If you can't raise a child or incapable of raising a child, you should not be allowed to have a child. But no, any one who has sex organs and can find someone with complimentary sex organs can procreate. Drug addicts and teenagers. People in no financial position to have children. The lazy,stupid,angry,childish and crazy all get to experience the magic that is parenthood. You need a driver's licence to drive a car, but hey if you wanna have two,three or four kids, we can't stop you.

Yeah... that's because we don't live in Communist China. We've decided, as a country, that you can have however many kids you want because you're a fee individual. Sure, you can start removing freedoms to exert more control over society, but I'm not sure that's what Canada stands for.

Obviously more black kids would succeed in school if the individual,family and the community stressed its' importance. If 40% of black children are dropping out, then its just not important to them.

Aren't they pushing through a curriculum/school that is more relevant to their experience/lifestyle? Seems like they're trying different solutions...

You do know what's important though, right?? Instant gratification, street cred and living the hip hop lifestyle. These type of numbers, which are so disproportionate when compared to other cultures, indicate a massive collapse of the urban black community. And it's not just dropout rates, it is criminal,incarceration and poverty rates also.

So, is it because they're black that they need 'instant gratification' and they're doing poorly? You don't think history, or systemic social & economic inequality come into play? Are there any white kids out there who are just looking for instat gratification, or who do badly in school? Or is that mostly a black thing?
