I think a lot of you bring up a valid point about this being just another choice among many in the education system. But....

...it still reeks of segregation. Catholic schools are based on an ideology/religous views, not a race. Same with Jewish and Muslim schools. But "Black" schools? Thats a race. That's a skin color. What if there were "white" schools? It would never happen, there would be riots over it.

As a minority who grew up in the public education system, I am strongly against this concept. This idea flies in the face of what generations of blacks had to fight against in the civil rights movement.
