Nope, that is incorrect.
The by-law is 72 hours, and if the car is within a certain distance of the registered address (100 metres IIRC) it can be parked there as long as they want.
I looked into this when I had to park my spare car on the street and I lived in a townhouse complex. The people who's townhouses were closer to the street were mad at me, but I had the same right to park there as they did.
