Ya I was gonna say that too. I moved out to Nanaimo briefly about three years back and was told the coldest it gets out there in the winter is around -5, and it'll maybe snow 2-3 times all year. I laughed when I heard that, considering I'm born and raised in Calgary(with brief stops in Edmonton and Winnipeg). Then December rolls around, and you're in +2 that feels like its about -18. And when it snows the entire town shuts down, due to how windey the roads are. We had a deep, sharp driveway and even a tow-truck refused to get my car out. It's completely different out there.

...though the absolute worst I felt out in Nanaimo pales in comparison to what we're going through here right now. -39 as a low tonight here in Edmonton(and thats excluding wind chill), the all-time record low is only a degree less, back in 1886. I've got my car in the garage and plugged in, good times...
