Well, did you mention "The American" enough times? It is close, but doesn't seem neutral; especially when there are lines like "has since taken the reigns of the second guitar." That sounds like PR.
Instead of "John has since left the band and Stephen's long time friend Brett Gunther, of the now defunct The Buzzing Bees, has since taken the reigns of the second guitar."
How about something more like "John left the band and was replaced by Brett Gunther."
It isn't important if Brett is friends with Steve, and I doubt many people reading Wiki would understand the relevance that Brett played for another band. Those types of things are very fan oriented, not encyclopedia oriented. If the band gets big them maybe previous history will be more important, but until then if someone hears the name and looks them up, you should stick to dry facts, and make sure there is a link or 2 two a fan site for those who do care to want more information. Less like Rolling Stone, more like Encyclopedia Britannica.
But that is just my opinion.
