Eastern Iowa has a really picturesque quality that most people don't know about. The economy is pretty slow in the area right now. John Deere and Case IH used to me the main industries in town. John Deere is still one of the largest employers, as is the Federal government, thanks to the Rock Island Arsenal. Nowadays, it's mainly just a mix of several different sectors, as you put it. Gambling is a pretty big draw here as well.
