That wasn't the point in you reading the thread. But it's good that you forgot the rest of the conversation during your perusing.
And frankly, some wounds time does not heal. You can't come back from death. (Just to play devils advocate.)
It's better to know though. If there's nothing there on her end, there probably never will be. Even if she did come back to say she wanted you later, chances are that it wouldn't last and would be a rebound because you're a friend and she knows you're there for her. So it's a good idea to keep away from that.
