Playing with people's imaginations is a far more powerful tool. Your mind can cook up all sorts of things a Hollywood geek behind a monitor just can't.

x100, I actually even said that earlier in this thread. They looked like Imhotep from friggin The Mummy, awful. I actually read it was originally people in makeup, but they couldnt effectively act out the symptoms the infected were supposed to be suffering with(eg. constant hyperventilating), so they cut em and went to CGI. I agree, horrible decision, and really put a damper on what wouldve otherwise been an awesome movie with a strong acting job by Smith.
As for Cloverfield, I'm praying its Godzilla(though I have a feeling it wont be). They need to right all the wrongs they made in the '97 version.
