Yes Your computer's motherboard probably has 4-6 PCI slots. If you crack open your case, they are the white slots that you put things like modems, sound cards, network cards, sometimes video cards.

You can buy the wireless card and install it yourself. Don't worry, it is really easy to do. The package will come with a CD with drivers you need to get going. Just follow the instructions and you'll be fine.

I don't see the need to spend more than $30 on the card...There are different "standards" to be aware of. The most common are:
- b - an older standard, you can't buy 'b' equipment anymore.
- g - faster than 'b'. Probably the most common nowadays.
- n - the latest. Faster than 'g', more expensive.
What you need to know is that even 'b', the slowest, will meet most home users needs. Your Internet browsing speed is determined by your Internet connection. The wireless speed is only a very small factor. Think of it this way. You are planning a trip across the country, and can go a maximum speed of 100 km/h. Even if you back out of your drive way at the speed of light, it isn't going to make a big difference in the overall speed of the trip.
