The problem with the Horus myth and the many others being the genesis for Christianity is two fold:
Firstly, these folks who present there information are selective. They tell of the similarities but, not of the differences. With millions of religions in this world one couldn't help but find similarities between them. It's like looking at the similarities genetically between two species of animals. The importance isn't the similarities but, rather the differences. This nonsense reminds me of the fascinating people have Nostradamus. They take his large volume of work and find similarities between his prophecies and current world events. They then declare his prophesies to be fulfilled. Nostradamus knew nothing of the future and the author of the Horus myth knew nothing of Jesus Christ.
Secondly, the 40 some authors of the Bible didn't have the benefit of a comparative religions study course at their local college. They were individuals who for the most part lived and died in the piece of real estate know today as Israel and Palestine. A few had religious training within the Jewish faith. Most had no more knowledge that the average Israelite.
This theory that Christianity evolved out of other earlier religions has legs only because it appeals to the sensibility of those who despise the influence Christianity has on our society. It something Atheist especially love to put there faith in.
